Commit Problem

Sep 28, 2011 at 4:13 PM

I'm trying to setup recurring change requests using the instructions here:

http://www.scsm.se/?p=239

and i keep getting an error when running the final line: $changerequest.__base.Commit()

the error i get when i run the command manually is:

Exception calling "Commit" with "0" argument(s): "A discovery data item was rejected because the item has already been inserted by another user or process."

can anyone shed any light on why this could be happening?

many thanks

Simon

this means that the change request already exists (or has been updated and the object you have is essentially out of date), try using:

$changerequest.__base.Overwrite()

Gah, so easy!

thank you so much, that has worked straight away.

silly question, but how could i have found out that Overwrite was an avaiable option?

It's part of the documentation for the Projection/Instance in the SDK on MSDN!
